What You Need To Know About New World Bags

New World is an MMO game that allows you exploration. But while you are exploring the land of Aeternum, you will come across many things you wish to carry with you. But these are no good if you run out of space and can’t take them with you. So you’ll need plenty of bags to hold everything you’re carrying in New World! This guide will cover the basics of bags, what different bags are there, what they do, and their importance to your progression through the game.

The first thing to know about bags is that they are a piece of gear, just like your weapons and armor. This means that bags have a gear score. Gear Score affects your bag’s storage capacity. For example, a T5 Infused Leather Adventurer’s Satchel can carry 300 units of goods at Gear Score 500. If you get the same bag with a Gear Score of 600, it can carry 360 units instead.

The second thing to know is like everything else in New World, bags come in various tiers that determine how effective they are at storing gear. There are currently six types of bags in the game, going up to Legendary rarity. As your bags go higher in tiers, you’ll also get more perk slots, maxing out at five perk slots at Tier 5. Higher-tier bags can carry far more storage but are tougher to get.

The third thing to know about bags is that you get slots for them. If you come up to the Inventory, you will find that you have three bag slots. You unlock the 1st Bag Slot as it is a part of the quest, and you get a free bag. The 2nd Bag Slot unlocks at Level 30, and the 3rd Bag Slot unlocks at Level 45. Once you have those slots open, it’s time to think about making new bags.

The fourth and final thing to know about bags is that they can come with perks like other pieces of gear. These perks range from additional boosts to your carry weight to increasing the duration of consumables. There are three different main types of perks you can add to bags. Gathering perks will enhance aspects of your gathering professions of logging, mining, harvesting, fishing, and skinning. Crafting perks will enhance aspects of your crafting professions of cooking, weaponsmithing, armorsmithing, engineering, arcana, and jewel crafting.

When you first reach level 10, you’re unlikely to have a bag, so you have two options. You can follow the main story or you can craft a bag. If you follow the main story for a few more quests, eventually, the innkeeper in your town will send you on a quest to another town to speak with their innkeeper. Once you arrive at the new town and complete the quest, you are given a bag. Then you can equip this bag to get an extra 50 weights in your Inventory.

If you don’t want to go down that route, find an Outfitting Station, all major towns have one. You can make four tiers of bags. Each bag requires a Rune of Holding from your Faction vendor, which you can get for Faction Tokens and Gold, along with some basic resources. You can add some Azoth, increasing your chances of getting a perk. You can also add Special Resources, which will give you a specific perk. It can provide you with luck or carry extra weight.

Last, if you’re looking to make a bit of money, bags are useful to everyone in New World, so making a bunch of specialized bags is a good way of making some quick cash. With that extra cash, you could even buy a new weapon and work towards putting your best New World build together.
